New trailer for Terrence Mallick’s To The Wonder is all about the love

TO THE WONDER hasn’t been getting the best reviews so far (you can read our review from Chris Bumbray here) and it seems to be dividing critics even more than Terrence Mallick’s last effort THE TREE OF LIFE. A new trailer is up on ET and has shots of various people dealing with the complexities of relationships while someone narrates about how love can change and love can change us.

I’m still going to check this film out even though I am a little concerned with some of the reviews. Not that I judge a movie on other people’s opinion (especially a film that obviously isn’t for everyone) but I definitely have a bit more trepidation about the film than I had when I first heard about the movie.

The film stars Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem and Rachel McAdams and the synopsis is as follows:

TO THE WONDER tells the story of Marina (Kurylenko) and Neil (Affleck), who meet in France and move to Oklahoma to start a life together, where problems soon arise. While Marina makes the acquaintance of a priest and fellow exile (Bardem), who is struggling with his vocation, Neil renews a relationship with a childhood sweetheart, Jane (McAdams). Bold and lyrical, the film is a moving, gorgeously shot exploration of love in its many forms. Written and directed by Terrence Malick.

TO THE WONDER is out April 12, 2013.
