A new UK trailer for the stop-motion animated film PARANORMAN has hit the web and features a nice dose of adventure and some new comedy bits from the flick. The Lenka-produced film, directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, follows “A misunderstood boy who can speak with the dead, takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse”

The film’s voice talent includes Kodi Smit-McPhee (Norman), Anna Kendrick (Courtney), Leslie Mann (Sandra Babcock), John Goodman (Mr. Prenderghast), and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Alvin).
As a fan of stop-motion, I’m pretty stoked to see this. I’m happy to see stop-motion animated films still being produced with the stiff competition from digitally animated films dominating the market. Coupled with FRANKENWEENIE, we’ll have two stop-motion films this year. Fingers crossed that they’re A) good and B) a success, which would mean we could look forward to more like them in the future.
PARANORMAN opens on October 27, 2011.
