We are now just minutes away from the Cannes premiere of writer/director Quentin Tarantino's latest film, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. While Tarantino has sent out a letter asking anyone who catches a Cannes screening to keep spoilers to themselves, Sony has given a treat to those of us who want to know more details about the film: they have released the full trailer today, and it can be seen below.
About a minute longer than the previous trailer, this one digs a bit deeper into the story and characters – and gives more glimpses of the Manson Family element. Tarantino and the producers have repeatedly said that this "is not a Manson movie", but here we even have a shot of knife-wielding Manson Family members that look like they're on their way to commit murder.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is set in
Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.
DiCaprio and Pitt's co-stars include Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate and Damon Herriman as Charles Manson. Also in the cast: Al Pacino, Bruce Dern, Mike Moh, Michael Madsen, Scoot McNairy, Rafal Zawierucha, Emile Hirsch, Costa Ronin, Luke Perry, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Margaret Qualley, Victoria Pedretti, Harley Quinn Smith, Madisen Beaty, Danny Strong, Sydney Sweeney, James Landry Hébert, Mikey Madison, Spencer Garrett, Eddie Perez, Maurice Compte, Maya Hawke, Lena Dunham, Austin Butler, Lorenza Izzo, James Remar, Martin Kove, Brenda Vaccaro, Nichole Galicia, Zoe Bell, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Timothy Olyphant, James Marsden, Marco Rodríguez, Ramón Franco, Raul Cardona, Julia Butters, Damian Lewis, and Clu Gulager.
ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is set to reach theatres on July 26th, but people lucky enough to be at the Cannes Film Festival are watching it today.
