Taking place 27 years after TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, the upcoming TERMINATOR: DARK FATE finds a new Terminator (Gabriel Luna) sent from the future by Skynet with orders to terminator Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), a hybrid cyborg human (Mackenzie Davis), and her friends. Thankfully, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) comes to the rescue, along with the original Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), in order to continue the fight for the future. Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer/extended look at DARK FATE which not only offers up more awesome Terminator action, but also puts the spotlight on Dani Ramos, the main focus of the new Terminator, but as to why she's being targeted, it would seem that's still a mystery.
As we know, TERMINATOR: DARK FATE marks the return of James Cameron, who is back in the saddle for the first time since TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, and Cameron has said that the film could be the start of a brand-new trilogy. "We spent several weeks breaking story and figuring out what type of story we wanted to tell so we would have something to pitch Linda. We rolled up our sleeves and started to break out the story and when we got a handle on something we looked at it as a three-film arc, so there is a greater story there to be told," Cameron said. "If we get fortunate enough to make some money with Dark Fate we know exactly where we can go with the subsequent films." As the previous two films were also planned to be the first of a new trilogy, I'm not exactly optimistic, but history has shown us never to bet against James Cameron.
TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
