We've been teased once again by Showtime for their upcoming series "Penny Dreadful", which was created, written and executive produced by John Logann, Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris. I swear this show just keeps looking better and better. The latest teaser offers a healthy dose of new footage, giving us a fantastic look at the dark things to come for the thriller. I'm excited to see how they've translated some of literature's most iconic characters from the page to the screen, and so far it looks like they've done a pretty damn good job.
Not only have we been treated to a new teaser, but Showtime has revealed "Penny Dreadful's" premiere date as well! The series will debut on Sunday, May 11th at 10pm. Two out of the eight episodes will be directed by THE ORPHANAGE's J.A. Bayona.
The series draws from famous works of literature, posing that some of the most terrifying protagonists — Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, Dracula’s Van Helsing and more — come together in Victorian London.
"Penny Dreadful" stars Josh Hartnett, Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Reeve Carney, Rory Kinnear, Hearry Treadaway, Billie Piper and Danny Sapani.
