"Tonight you will not sleep…"
Charles Dickens’ iconic ghost story A CHRISTMAS CAROL is getting the remake treatment once again – but wait! This time it's headed our way from Tom Hardy & Steven Knight and it looks to be a FULL HORROR re-telling starring Guy Pearce and Andy Serkis. Nice!
You can go ahead and check out the killer and spooky trailer for yourself below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know if you are as excited as we are (for the first time since A MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL back in 1992) to finally check out a new version of the classic tale.
The FX Original Movie is
a spine-tingling immersion into Ebenezer Scrooge’s dark night of the soul.
And for the one… wait for it… Scrooge who isn't familiar with the age-old tale of semi-terror, the plot goes a little something like this:
Though London awaits the joyful arrival of Christmas, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge thinks it's all humbug, berating his faithful clerk and cheerful nephew for their view. Later, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns that three spirits will visit him this night. The ghosts take Scrooge on a journey through his past, present, and future in the hope of transforming his bitterness.
The dark reimagining of the classic tale is produced by FX Productions in association with the BBC, Scott Free and Tom Hardy’s Hardy Son & Baker.
For those who might not be overly familiar with Steven Knight, the guy made a name for himself as a screenwriter with such films as DIRTY PRETTY THINGS, EASTERN PROMISES before moving on to directing with the stellar LOCKE (also starring Tom Hardy). And then killing it on TV with shows such as PEAKY BLINDERS and TABOO (Tom Hardy again!) Let's all just forget that SERENITY happened.
