Where do you go when you want to film the end of the world without using computer effects? Pittsburgh apparently. Take that, Three River denizens. Apparently your town resembles the aftermath of some sort of nuclear holocaust. Add that to Sienna Miller’s “Shittsburgh” comments and you might think that Hollywood has some Steel Town bias. USA Today has a first look today at a still from THE ROAD featuring Viggo Mortensen as the dad taking his son cross-country in a post-apocalyptic society. The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book by Cormac McCarthy and also co-stars Charlize Theron. Check out the still below then head to USA Today to read more about how Pittsburgh is a perfect stand-in for a desolate wasteland.
