Rupert Wyatt’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES looks to compete in the cruel market of summer blockbusters, opening in the states August 5th. As such, the promo onslaught’s been pretty intense. You’ve seen trailers (including a new one this morning), posters, viral footage, TV spots galore…and now an even fresher one-sheet for the film has been unfurled. An international one!
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and Andy Serkis are just a few of the key players in the film. Serkis I’m actually hearing is putting out “For Your Consideration” videos for his role as Caesar the Ape. You think he has a chance of mining Oscar gold for playing a rebellious simian?
