Paramount has shifted the release dates for a couple of its upcoming movies. First up is Richard Linklater's EVERYBODY WANTS SOME, which will now see a limited release on April 1, 2016 before expanding over the following two weeks, instead of just going wide on April 15th as originally planned.
Linklater's latest directorial effort will follow "a group of college baseball players in ’80s Texas as they navigate their way through the freedoms," and is set to premiere in March at SXSW 2016. The movie has been described as a spiritual sequel to Linklater's DAZED AND CONFUSED, and stars Blake Jenner, Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell, Glen Powell, Will Brittain and Zoey Deutch.
The studio has also pushed back the release date for RINGS, the next installment in THE RING series. The horror flick will now hit theaters on October 28, 2016 instead of April 1st, and this is the second time Paramount has moved its opening date. F. Javier Gutierrez will direct the third entry in the franchise, which is set thirteen years after the events from the first movie, and stars Johnny Galecki, as "a handsome, pleasure-seeking professor who mentors and helps boyfriend and girlfriend duo Holt (Alex Roe) and Julia (Matilda Lutz)."
I probably already know the answer to this, but which film are you more excited for: EVERYBODY WANTS SOME or RINGS?
