You might not find this as exciting as the new release date for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, but change your calendar’s accordingly. 20th Century Fox has made a last-minute release date alteration with Matthew Vaughn’s (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, KICK-ASS) adaptation of the Mark Millar graphic novel KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, The movie was set to debut this October, but now Fox has pushed the film to February 13, 2015, going up against the menopausal monster that is FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. There isn’t a solid reason for the move; more time to polish off what already looks like a great movie.
Also, the remake of POLTERGEIST has been pushed from February 13, 2015 to July 24, 2015. Horror doesn't usually find a home in the summer; DELIVER US FROM EVIL tried to capture the same success of last summer’s THE CONJURING and go for a July release, and that didn’t turn out so well. We haven’t heard a thing about POLTERGEIST other than Sam Raimi is producing and Gil Kenan (MONSTER HOUSE) is directing. Upon inspection though, I did find that Sam Rockwell is starring in the movie; so it gets a pass for now.
