We have some notable release date changes to share tonight. First up is the 20th Century Fox sequel INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 has moved up one week earlier. Originally planned for release on July 1, 2016, the movie will now hit the big screen on June 24, 2016 instead; the same day THE MUMMY reboot. Another Fox release is getting a significant delay of six months, HITMAN: AGENT 47 is moving from February 27 to August 28 2015.
If you couldn’t tell by the frightening banner image above, the children’s book adaptation, PADDINGTON, is leaving the Christmas day spot this year for January 16, 2015. That’s pretty surprising considering it’s a family movie, but judging by the trailer, it might be best to bury this thing. Elsewhere SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES is moving from February 20, 2015 to October 30, 2015 and in a disappointing move, HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 is leaving the December 25 2014 date to February 20, 2015. I suppose this would take it out of competition with THE INTERVIEW starring James Franco and Seth Rogen which hits on Christmas day, but still, that bites.
