Paramount Pictures having recently changed the date for MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 and now turned their attention to the slate of horror movies they have coming out. With very little to no progress or information on some of these titles it was only a matter of time until they got pushed.
Something called PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION has moved from March 13 of this year to October 23, 2015. This moves the FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot from its November 13, 2015 release to May 13, 2016. It takes a calendar certain kind of genius to move from one Friday the 13th release date to the next, but I like to think it was my suggestion earlier this month that Paramount took into consideration. Also, the third film in THE RING series, RINGS, will take Friday the 13th‘s original date this November 13, 2015.
There are few details on PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION, so this new Halloween time release date could breathe some much needed life back into the franchise. I want to tell them using the best Tom Hank impression I can, “earn this”. Meanwhile over at Camp Crystal Lake, Jason is getting a May release date. No FRIDAY THE 13TH movies has ever been given the more appropriate October release date, so why start now? This movie will have to move along pretty quickly which is never a good strategy. I sincerely hope they can bring this one back. David Bruckner is still attached to direct and Platinum Dunes’ Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are onboard to produce.
Are you looking forward to any of these releases?
