I can’t even believe I’m saying this, but with the trailers I’ve seen thus far, including this new red-band one for Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg’s THAT’S MY BOY, I’m actually looking forward to this movie.
Yes, you heard me right. Not since BILLY MADISON have I uttered those words, but I simply can’t deny the fact that the adolescent gags and constant F-bombs that are replete in the promos for the film, THAT’S MY BOY is shaping up to maybe, possibly, kinda, revive Sandler’s clout, if even a smidgeon.
Shots, shots, shots!:
I’m not going to retread over the missteps Sandler has had of late as we are all well-versed. I am curious if it was a conscious effort by the comedian to “step up his game” in doing this, as well as taking the co-starring role with Will Ferrell in the upcoming THREE MISSISSIPPI.
Samberg is jumping into the feature film fray after officially leaving SNL, but I don’t see his stakes any higher than Sandler’s in terms of churning out some quality comedy. Ultimately, they’re both pulling for a win and I’m hoping this one delivers, if for no other reason than for me to laugh my ass off at a good flick starring two guys who can be good when they want to be.
Some guest stars to look forward to include: Vanilla Ice, Will Forte, Rachel Dratch, Milo Ventimiglia, Ciara, Nick Swardson, Susan Sarandon, Todd Bridges, Colin Quinn, Alan Thicke, and many more.
THAT’S MY BOY opens on June 15, 2012.
Eva Amurri Martino (daughter of Susan Sarandon) is inspired casting for this film as the hot teacher…
