New posters have been released for two films that will be shown at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, and both movies could be major players come awards season: BLACK MASS and SICARIO.
We'll start with the new one for the upcoming Whitey Bulger biopic from Scott Cooper (OUT OF THE FURNACE, CRAZY HEART), which stars Johnny Depp as the infamous Boston mobster, as well as a slew of other talented actors, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Joel Edgerton, Peter Sarsgaard, Corey Stoll, David Harbour and Jesse Plemons. A new trailer is expected to drop today, so be on the lookout for that. BLACK MASS will be in theaters on September 18, 2015.
SICARIO comes from PRISONERS and ENEMY director Denis Villeneuve, and features actors such as Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin and Jon Bernthal. Earlier this year, Villeneuve described his new movie as a violent "dark poem," and said it's about "how America fantasises that it can solve problems beyond its borders, and about the collateral damage that results." I thought the first trailer was very impressive, and I can't wait to see more from the film. SICARIO opens wide on September 25, 2015.
