New poster for The King’s Speech doesn’t look like Photoshopped puke this time!

I had thought we touched on the previous poster for Tom Hooper’s awards hopeful THE KING’S SPEECH, but a quick search proves otherwise. And that’s just as well, because the last poster, a half-assed assembly job done by The Weinstein Compnay, was pretty bad. So bad in fact that the film’s director Tom Hooper vehemently proclaimed (via Movieline), “I hate it. I hate it. And it is not going to ever be on any cinema walls. It will be replaced. It’s a train smash. It’s a train smash.” You can view said “train smash” in all its glory RIGHT HERE. The new, less pukey, and much more minimalist one sheet for the film is below, and it’s certainly a marked improvement over the last.

THE KING’S SPEECH is now open in limited release and will roll out onto more screens over the next few weeks.

Synopsis: Based on the true story of the Queen of England’s father and his remarkable friendship with maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, THE KING’S SPEECH stars Academy Award nominee Colin Firth as King George VI, who unexpectedly becomes King when his brother Edward abdicates the throne. Academy Award Winner Geoffrey Rush stars as Logue, the man who helps the King find a voice with which to lead the nation into war.
