It's a big year for Doctor Who fans, and I'm not just talking about Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor in December. It's the 50th anniversary of the iconic British character's first episode and to celebrate the BBC will be broadcasting a special on November 23rd called "The Day of The Doctor" featuring both Matt Smith and David Tennant. The BBC has released a poster for the special, as well as some information about the episode.
"The Day of The Doctor" will also star Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper (the current and previous companions respectively) and John Hurt, whose character was introduced in last season's "The Name of the Doctor". The identity of Hurt's character and his connection to the Doctor will be revealed in the special, which will be 75 minutes long.
I know for some it's not Doctor Who but "Doctor Who Cares?" however there are a ton of fans of the character and the show, and a 50th anniversary is kind of a big deal. It's pretty damn impressive how long the BBC has kept him running, and hopefully we'll get fifty more years with the good Doctor.
