New poster for latest Jon Knautz film The Shrine will be the last thing you see

We’ve got a nice update about Jon Knautz’s next film. Earlier this summer Eric Walkuski wrote the latest story on the film entitled THE SHRINE. That update was about a new trailer that revealed tons of new footage. If you that was crazy check out the poster they’ve got up on the internet already.

Courtesy of Dread Central, down below is a snippet of a brand spankin’ new poster that teases what kind of devices will be store for the victims. Check it out by clicking on the image of the chick who’s two seconds short of being blind for life.

So far you guys like the material present? I know the whole torture-porn angle is not as fresh as it used to be but this may be something different. A straight foward thriller with no filler, that’s what it looks like to me. Worth a ticket entry to Screamfest? I’d say that’s a yes.

After a young American backpacker goes missing in Europe, a group of journalists link his disappearance to a remote village in Poland called Alvaina. Upon further investigation, the journalists discover that Alvaina has a history of bizarre cult activity revolving around human sacrifice. Hellbent on discovering the truth, they travel to the small village but quickly find themselves pursued by a mysterious group set on killing them. Forced into the gruesome reality of true survival horror, the journalists soon discover that Alvaina hides a much darker secret than they could ever imagine.

The Shrine, is written and directed by Jon Knautz and stars Jack Brooks, Trevor Matthews, along with Meghan Heffern, Aaron Ashmore, and Cindy Sampson.

The film will premiere at Screamfest this Thursday, October 14th, at 7:30 pm at the Mann 6 Theaters. If you’re going to see any film at Screamfest, make this one it.
