There’s a bunch of things coming out of the GRAVE ENCOUNTERS camp today. First, its new trailer will premiere at Comic-Con on Friday. You can expect it online shortly after, naturally. A new poster has also been released, which you can see below, courtesy of Crave.
Last but certainly not least, the movie has a release date. It will open theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on August 19, with a “Demand It” campaign then implemented with hopes of an expansion. You can start demanding it on the flick’s official site. It will then come to video on demand on August 25.
The found footage film is written and directed by a duo known as The Vicious Brothers. It stars Sean Rogerson, Juan Riedinge, Ashleigh Gryzko (below), Mackenzie Grayand and Merwin Mondesir.
The cinéma-vérité style supernatural thriller follows a ghost-hunting reality television show host and crew as they shoot an episode inside an abandoned psychiatric hospital, where unexplained phenomena have been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted – it is alive – and it has no intention of ever letting them leave.
