For me, the clear winner of the Super Bowl spots was FAST AND FURIOUS 6 and surprisingly so. I knew that it would look fun, but I didn’t think it would out-rock IRON MAN 3. Now, some may disagree and that’s cool, but I felt there was more energy and excitement in the FAST AND FURIOUS 6 spot than any of the others, although each had their own strengths. I thought the franchise had started to outstay its welcome by the fourth entry but then FAST FIVE came along kicked all kinds of ass. A welcome surprise that really put the series on a new path, from car-thief romp to full-throttle heist action flick.
Yesterday’s spot was our first look at footage from the film and it seems that director Justin Lin, who has now helmed four of the films from the franchise, is upping the ante in terms of action and vehicular carnage. Today, we’ll take another look at the spot, along with screencaps, and a teaser poster for the film. In addition, we have word from Dwayne Johnson himself that the full trailer will hit the net in two days, so you can expect a much longer shot of adrenaline in your very near future.
Here’s the spot, once again:

Lastly, here’s some screencaps to let you dive into some detail:
Here’s the synopsis:
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brians (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpins empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
FAST SIX, starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Gina Carano, Sung Kang, Michelle Rodriguez, Luke Evans, Tyrese Gibson, Elsa Pataky, and Ludacris hits the road on May 24, 2013.
