You’ve got to hand it to Warner Bros. on keeping MAN OF STEEL so quiet while it’s been in production. They’ve definitely kept up with the term “blanketed in secrecy” for the “re-introduction” of the Last Son of Krypton, as the most we’ve seen is some decent set pics, one official image, and two teasers. However, I have no doubt that once the marketing beast is unleashed, it will be MAN OF STEEL all over, all the time. If THE HOBBIT is any indication, I’d say we’re in for a hell of a push.
Today, we have a small, but not insignificant, look at actor Henry Cavill in the role of Superman/Clark Kent, gracing the cover of Cine’ Live magazine in a portrait style pic. It’s not Earth-shattering, but it’s in focus and there’s no green screen around, so I’ll consider it a small victory for fans of Supes. I’m really looking forward to the film and hoping against hope that it will bring Superman into the modern-era and out of the Donner-verse that it’s been stuck in for decades.
Bring it!
The new trailer for MAN OF STEEL is set to premiere in front of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, so expect an online release shortly before or possibly after that. Fret not. We WILL be watching.
MAN OF STEEL, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Russell Crowe is set to take to the skies in 2D, 3D, and IMAX on June 14, 2013.
