New plot details for Colin Hardy’s The Woods and Thomas Daley’s Tiger House

Back in May we landed an early poster for Corin Hardy's upcoming Irish folk horror THE WOODS (check that out HERE) but at the time of that writing we didn't know too much in terms of plot. Now we've gotten a longer synopsis for the film to share with you courtesy Altitude, which you can check out below.

Joseph Mawle ("Game of Thrones") and Bojana Novakovic (EDGE OF DARKNESS) star. There is no release news to share with you at the moment, but we'll keep you updated when we hear more on this film.

Fraught economic pressures force Adam Hitchens, a London based conservationist, to take a job surveying an Irish forest. He hopes the move to a mill house deep in the idyllic countryside will be a breath of fresh air for his wife Clare, their young baby son Finn and dog Iggy.

Not everyone approves of their arrival however. A farmer with strong beliefs in local tradition and folklore warns of danger if Adam does not stop unsettling the ancient, sacred forests with his tests and assessments. When someone or something breaks into the house at night with the apparent intention of harming their child, the worried couple believes the locals are taking it a step further, intent on driving them away.

But after the police aren't able to catch the elusive intruders, events take a turn for the unexplainable and terrifying when the millhouse comes under attack. Stranded in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by darkness, Adam and Clare must fight to protect their child and themselves and survive the invasion of horrific, vicious beings that emerge from deep within the sacred woods surrounding their smallholding.

A few weeks ago we also brought you the latest art for Thomas Daley's home invasion thriller TIGER HOUSE, which sees “Skins” star Kaya Scodelario take on the role of Kelly, a teenager who fights back after an armed gang break into her boyfriend’s home and take him and his family hostage. Now we've learned more about the film via a lengthier synopsis. Hopefully this one will be as much fun as last years YOU'RE NEXT.

One fateful night, troubled teenager Kelly sneaks into her boyfriend Mark’s house to deliver some sobering news: She’s pregnant.

But tonight, she is not the only unwelcome visitor: An armed gang breaks in. Mark's father Doug manages a bank and the gang plan on using Doug's help to carry out a daring heist using his captive family as leverage.

Their plan quickly unravels when during the ensuing struggle, the gang's leader Shane gets injured and is left on Mark's bed fading in and out of consciousness. Unbeknownst to the intruders, a terrified and vulnerable Kelly is only inches away under the very same bed. From her cramped hiding position, Kelly overhears everything and now knows too much, putting her life in terrible danger.

Now, Kelly must draw on all her reserves of strength and her skills of dexterity, to escape. As the situation spirals out of control, the suburban house becomes a terrifying arena for violence. Faced with no alternative, she must turn and fight back.
