It was just an hour ago or so that we passed along an interesting story regarding how Rob Zombie's Laurie Strode aka Scout Taylor-Compton was glad that the Zombie-less HALLOWEEN 3 never happened. And now we have an update on a Rob Zombie movie that IS happening – his much-anticipated third (and final?) chapter in his Firefly Family saga, which started out in 2003 with HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and then THE DEVIL'S REJECTS.
I know that a few months back we shared the news that Zombie had finished working on THREE FROM HELL, but it seems Zombie may have jumped the gun a bit there. Turns out the movie is still in post-production. Wa, wa. But that said, it's currently in the "final stages" of the process. So that's good! Zombie himself took to Instagram to spread the news that the movie is moving along great, and to share two new pics from the film.
Zombie writes:
Quick update. 3 From Hell is moving along great. Beginning the final stages of post-production. Whew, this fucker has been a lot of work.
You can check out the two new pics embedded below in Zombie's original Instagram post. And while we don't know much about what THREE FROM HELL is about specifically, we do know that Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis B. Driftwood (Bill Moseley), and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), somehow survived their shootout with the police at the end of THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and have spent some time in prison since we last saw them.
Moseley, Moon, and Haig are joined in the cast by DEVIL'S REJECTS co-stars Danny Trejo as Rondo and Daniel Roebuck as Morris Green, plus new additions Clint Howard, Richard Brake, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Emilio Rivera, David Ury, Dee Wallace, Pancho Moler, Austin Stoker, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Richard Edson, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Billy Blair, Steven Michael Quezada, Bill Oberst Jr., Sylvia Jefferies, and Sean Whalen.
Lionsgate and Saban Films are expected to release THREE FROM HELL sometime this year.
