New Mission: Impossible movie gets an official title

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Have you been getting tired saying MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6, longing for simpler titles like GHOST PROTOCOL and ROGUE NATION? Well, today marks a whole new chapter of your life, fellow action seekers, for now, you will no longer waste seconds upon second of your life, and we now know the movie’s official title: MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT.

The announcement was made on Tom Cruise’s Instagram account, where a picture of the movie’s clapboard is shown with the title slapped across it. Now you know what’s it’s like to picture Cruise running around a radioactive wasteland with a dog companion in tow. Video game reference for the win!

Get ready. #MissionImpossible

And that’s not all because Cruise then posted a picture that can only be a tease for whatever bonkers stunt he has planned for the movie, and of course, it features him riding on a helicopter with minimal safety gear.

The title likely refers to Cruise and the gang having to deal with the – ahem – fallout after a mission goes wrong. This news is yet another big development in the movie’s promotion this week, as director Christopher McQuarrie took to Instagram to tease that the trailer is getting the “finishing touches.” Now that the title has been unveiled, perhaps we can expect that trailer quite soon.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBlE – FALLOUT arrives July 27.
