New member of Ash’s family to join the fight in season 3 of Ash vs Evil Dead

I'll be the first to admit to rolling my eyes at the thought of Ashley Williams' (Bruce Campbell) blood-filled shenanigans playing out on television, but holy hell, the first two seasons of Ash vs Evil Dead have been completely gruesome, totally absurd, and a ridiculous amount of fun. Starz announced that they had renewed the series for a third season just a few days after the premiere of the second, and now we have a few new details about what's in store for us. It seems like a new member of Ash's family will be joining the fight against evil – his daughter.

Bruce Campbell recently spoke with Geek Girl Project where he revealed the addition of this surprising family member.

Wait until you see season 3, baby. It’s off the charts. We’re jumping off a cliff at the end. It will never be the same. The world will never be the same at the end of this season. There’s some big shit that happens – Ash’s daughter. Ash has a child. She’s in trouble. She’s a target. You know, the demons are like the mafia. They go after your family. So he has to not only save the world, now he has to raise a daughter — a teenager. An unruly teenager.

Before Craig DiGregorio stepped down as show-runner of Ash vs Evil Dead, he had initially been steering the season towards a very different finale which would have, though the magic of time-travel, revealed that Ash was the father of Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo). Ruby (Lucy Lawless) and Baal (Joel Tobeck) were then supposed to have taken Kelly away, which would have set up a third season where Ash set out to rescue his new daughter. Events wound up taking a different path, but it seems that Ash will still be gaining a daughter in the new season of Ash vs Evil Dead.

Now, who would you like to see play Ash's daughter? I suppose it's more than unlikely that Jane Levy (Mia in EVIL DEAD) would take on the role, but a man can dream. A man can dream.

The third season of Ash vs Evil Dead is expected to debut this fall.
