Last week Hayley Atwell revealed that Peggy Carter will be making an appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER and also dropped some hints that there could be something more in store for her character. Many of us assumed it would be a short film similiar to “Item 47” that was released with THE AVENGERS Blu-Ray.
We can’t confirm that she does star in a new short film (seriously though, she probably does) but we can say for sure that a new one-shot is coming. At the IRON MAN 3 premiere, Marvel Studios co-President Louise D’Esposito said that the studio just directed a new one-shot and it will be shown for the first time at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego.
I’ve just done a couple of short films for Marvel that feature female protagonist….It’s still top secret, but we will be premiering it at Comic-Con.
A couple of short films you say? So on top of getting a possible one-shot of Peggy Carter and the Howlin’ Commandos (that’s the rumor anyways) there could be at least one more short film from Marvel that should premiere sometime this year. It could end up on Blu-Ray when IRON MAN 3 hits shelves or it could screen in front of THOR: THE DARK WORLD when it’s released in November. Regardless, I’m thrilled that they are continuing with these short films that add just a little bit more to Marvel’s cinematic universe.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is currently filming and will be released on April 4th, 2014.
