New Maleficent video hails the evil fairy queen as a “force of nature”

Disney has unveiled a special look at MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL by way of a brand new video that focuses on the film's title character, Maleficent. As the footage plays on, stars of the upcoming live-action fantasy adventure gather round to shower Angelina Jolie with compliments for her portrayal of the "dark" and "playful" fairy godmother of Princess Aurora. Additionally, the new video offers a magnificent look at the world of MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL, which is sure to be teeming with magics both white as snow and as black as pitch.

Directed by Joachim Rønning from a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay by Linda Woolverton and Noah Harpster & Micah Fitzerman-Blue, MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL aims to expand the lore of one of Disney's most treasured villains, while also establishing a new fairy tale for the ages. Helping to tell the twisted tale are stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Juno Temple, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, among several others.

Here is the official synopsis for Disney's MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL:

The years have been kind to Maleficent and Aurora. Their relationship, born of heartbreak, revenge and ultimately love, has flourished. Yet the hatred between man and the fairies still exists. Aurora’s impending marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for celebration in the kingdom of Ulstead and the neighboring Moors, as the wedding serves to unite the two worlds. When an unexpected encounter introduces a powerful new alliance, Maleficent and Aurora are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family.

The film is produced by Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson with Matt Smith, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Michael Vieira and Linda Woolverton serving as executive producers.

MALFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL will cast a spell in theaters on October 18th.
