Lucifer, Season 5, Netflix, Tom Ellis

You might think it strange that you woke up feeling a tad horny on this Monday morning, though perhaps it's that, deep down, you knew that a new and steamy trailer for LUCIFER Season 5 was poised to rise from the flames. After all, the devil works in mysterious ways, and it's entirely possible Lucifer Morningstar has access to your sleepy brain meats.

As I was saying, a new and by all rights naughty teaser for Netflix's upcoming season of LUCIFER has risen, featuring some of the show's steamier moments as well as some of the devilish debauchery that's to come.

In addition to dropping the new trailer, Netflix has revealed that Part 1 of LUCIFER Season 5 will premiere on August 21st! Word of the new season finally landing a release date is bound to come as a relief for fans, who've all been waiting patiently for the Devil's triumphant return. Oh, but if you thought that was all, you're sorely mistaken.

Back in May, LUCIFER star Tom Ellis had sealed a deal to return as his charismatic character for a sixth season of the fan favorite comic book drama series. It was earlier this year when Netflix began talking with series producer Warner Bros. TV about continuing LUCIFER beyond what was supposed to be the show's fifth and final season. It's been reported that after a friendly and productive chin-wag, executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson had reached an accord for another season revolving around Vertigo and DC's demonic Lothario. With the deal in place, the next step was to secure the series' main players, all of whom were quick to sign on, save for Ellis, who for a time appeared to be holding out for a better deal. Thankfully, it's now been confirmed that Ellis is on board, and that a sixth season of LUCIFER is in the works.

LUCIFER centers around the show's devilishly clever leading man, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), a fallen angel who once ruled the depths of Hell before deciding to take a vacation in Los Angeles – The City of Angels. While continuing to party like the world is about to end, Lucifer teams with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) to solve a grizzly murder. As the unlikely pair continue to find themselves drawn to one another by a seemingly benevolent force, Lucifer soon finds himself falling for the one woman in all of creation who is unaffected by his diabolical charms.

Back in October while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Ellis told the pop star turned talk show host that the fifth season of the series will be divided into two parts.

"Season 5 of Lucifer is going to be split into two halves,” Ellis informed Clarkson during their interview session. “Netflix is going to drop eight episodes, and then there’s going to be a little break, and then they’re going to drop another eight episodes.”

Praise be to Satan! Not only do we have a scandalous teaser trailer to drool over, we've also got a premiere date for Part 1 of Season 5! I must confess, I'm a major fan of LUCIFER, and simply cannot wait for the show to make its return to Netflix. Bring on the drama, the deception, and the scantily-clad men and women of Lucifer's little black book, I say! After all, the Devil does not discriminate when it comes to matters of the flesh.
