We've got a brand-new animated film from Disney and Pixar just over the horizon with Luca, a coming-of-age story which certainly looks like a lot of fun. Taking place in Portorosso, a fictional seaside town on the Italian Riviera, the film follows a young boy named Luca who shares adventures with his new best friend Alberto. But Luca and Alberto are hiding a secret: they're both sea monsters from a world below the water's surface. A new Luca clip has been released, which finds Luca and Alberto being invited for dinner by their new friend Giulia, but it seems that Giulia's father has some rather alarming views of sea monsters.
Luca features the voices of Jacob Tremblay as Luca Paguro, Jack Dylan Grazer as Alberto Scorfano, Emma Berman as Giulia Marcovaldo, Saverio Raimondo as town bully Ercole Visconti, Maya Rudolph as Luca’s mom Daniela, Marco Barricelli as Giulia’s dad Massimo, Jim Gaffigan as Luca’s dad Lorenzo, Sandy Martin as Luca’s grandma, and Giacomo Gianniotti as a local fisherman.
The official synopsis for Luca:
Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.
Luca will debut on Disney+ on June 18th.
