Believe it or not, it’s been five long months since we got the first STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI trailer. Since then all we’ve seen are mildly revealing Lego sets and those guinea pig/penguin creatures, But we need footage of lightsabers, spaceships, force pushes and a bearded Luke Skywalker to quench our lusts. We have no idea what plot points the newest trailer will reveal, but at the very least we know when it could drop, so get ready to mark your calendars.
Thanks to a now-deleted Tweet from Mark Hamill (which was screenshotted by proactive nerds), the actor was asked a question by a fan about when a new trailer could drop. Hamill then responded by hinting that something would be coming on October 9 during a footy-ball game on ESPN (owned by Disney).
The fact the tweet was deleted hints that there’s some truth to the matter, with Lucasfilm perhaps wanting to have kept that information secret. Now that it’s out there, hopefully, LF will keep to the plan. Fingers crossed they release it now, saying, "Well, they know about it now! Might as well!"
The new trailer should be the complete preview, and it will be our best look at the story yet, although expect to see more of the hamster/tucan things than any super revealing plot details. Still, any new piece of LAST JEDI footage is worth more than all the gold in the Seven Kingdoms, and this could finally give me a reason to watch football. Then you will have the son you always wanted, dad.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI with Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and more arrives December 15.
