If you're a fan of Mike Mignola's Hellboy and are on the verge of running out of board games to play, you should know that Dark Horse Comics and Mantic Games are getting ready to launch one hell of a Kickstarter campaign just for you!
Ever fancied yourself a member of the BPRD? While you may not be able to fight alongside Hellboy himself this game is the next best option
Developed by Red Scar Publishing, Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game lets you become an agent of B.P.R.D. and investigate many of the mysteries that plague the world of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense.
“We can’t wait to bring Hellboy back to Kickstarter,” Ronnie Renton, CEO of Mantic Games, said in a statement about the upcoming project. “The roleplaying game is going to be a fantastic new way to experience Hellboy on the tabletop. The team at Red Scar has done an amazing job of capturing the feel of the Hellboy universe. Plus, your miniatures from Hellboy: The Board Game will be compatible with the RPG, which will bring a whole new lease of life to your awesome mini collection.”
Previously, Mantic unleashed the original edition of Hellboy: The Board Game through Kickstarter, back in April 2019. Since being set upon the world for Hellboy fans to embrace and enjoy, the game has needed to be reprinted three times to meet popular demand. Also, due to the game's overwhelming popularity, Mantic then translated the game into multiple languages.
Marc Langworthy (Conan the Barbarian, Judge Dredd) is leading Mantic's Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game, which upon the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, will allow players to try the game via a “quickstart” game including six pre-generated characters, written by Red Scar.
