What is up with this Monday news cycle? First, we get word that Garth Davis is poised to direct Jared Leto in TRON 3, then a series based on Will Forte's MacGruber gets picked up by Peacock, and now director Collin Trevorrow has shared a new image from the set of JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION!
The new image, which had been shared by Jurassic Outpost, depicts a lab and a cold storage container labeled with the words “InGen” and “Site B Isla Sorna” on the front. Naturally, those familiar with the Jurassic franchise will assume that the metallic crate contains dinosaur embryos. I'd also posit that someone plans to make dinosaurs using the InGen materials, proving yet again that no scientist in the history of the Jurassic film series has ever learned a damned thing from trying to play God with flesh-eating monsters.
If I were a betting man – and I am – I'd say that the island of Isla Sorna is going to play a key role in the plot for Trevorrow's upcoming film. Could it be that opportunists have been picking over the territory for all this time, hoping to score some sweet dino-related swag? Granted this image doesn't show the crate being taken from Isla Sorna per se, but c'mon, it's right there on the box, no?
You can see the photo in all of its full glory below:
The last time that the island of Isla Sorna was featured as a part of Universal's Jurassic franchise was in 2001's JURASSIC PARK III. It's entirely possible that the above image is linked to a flashback sequence for the upcoming film, but no one can say for certain until all has been revealed.
JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will see original cast members from JURASSIC PARK reunite for the first time since 1993. That's right, my friends. Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum will reprise their iconic roles as Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Dr. Ian Malcolm, respectively. Joining them for the highly-anticipated sequel will be Lewis Dodgson, who Jurassic Park novel fans will recognize as one of the franchise's main villains.
JURASSIC PARK: DOMINION is scheduled to open in theaters on June 11, 2021.
