So, not only does Japan have its very own trailer for THE WOLVERINE, but they have their very own title as well; THE WOLVERINE: SAMURAI. Based on the themes, location, and source material, it’s pretty fitting, really. So much so that it wouldn’t hurt to call it the same everywhere else, even if it’s a bit obvious. No matter, though. The key is content, not title, and THE WOLVERINE certainly looks to have quite a bit going on. As cool as it looks, however, it seems to be losing a little steam with its comic-book competitors this summer, including IRON MAN 3 and MAN OF STEEL, both of which will likely beat the ol’ Canucklehead at the box office.
This new-ish Japanese trailer shows off a few new bits, but nothing Earth-shattering. However, it does add an air of authenticity with the subject matter, making it slightly cooler with the foreign elements. I kind of dig it.
What say you, bub?:
THE WOLVERINE, starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Svetlana Khodchenkova, and Famke Jannsen slices its way to theaters on July 26, 2013.
