A new international trailer for JUPITER ASCENDING has landed online, featuring some previously unseen footage. I will say the Wachowski siblings' "sci-fi fairy tale" looks interesting, however I really don't know what to make of their latest project. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of buzz for JUPITER ASCENDING, which isn't good for a summer movie with a $150 million budget.
Take a look:
Synopsis:
From the streets of Chicago to the far-flung galaxies whirling through space, “Jupiter Ascending” tells the story of Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), who was born under a night sky, with signs predicting she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
While I don't want JUPITER ASCENDING to fail and I'm not one of those who always bash the Wachowskis, I'm just not sold on JUPITER ASCENDING, and I think that's the case for a lot of people. Maybe I'm wrong and their new film will do fine at the box office and will be a solid movie, but right now I'm a little worried about JUPITER ASCENDING.
JUPITER ASCENDING will be in theaters on July 18th, 2014.
