Last year we got a first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as British cryptographer Alan Turing in Morten Tyldum's (HEADHUNTERS, BUDDY) THE IMITATION GAME, and now a couple of new images from the historical drama have been released over at EW, this time featuring Cumberbatch and a few of his co-stars. Besides helping break Nazi Germany's Enigma Code during WWII, Turing was also later criminally prosecuted for being a homosexual before he tragically killed himself in 1954.
Take a look:
THE IMITATION GAME is based on the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges, and also stars Matthew Goode, Keira Knightley, Mark Strong and Rory Kinnear. Benedict Cumberbatch should do a fantastic job playing Alan Turing, and will probably receive a few award nominations for his portrayal of Turing. Nothing says "Oscar bait" like a WWII flick that also deals with homosexuals being prosecuted for their sexual orientation. All kidding aside, THE IMITATION GAME has the potential to be a fantastic film, and will likely be a major player during this year's awards season.
THE IMITATION GAME will open on November 21, 2014.
