New images from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, starring Keri Russell

There are quite a few movies I’m really looking forward to this summer, but the one that really takes the cake for me has to be Matt Reeves’ DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. I’m excited to see what a director like Reeves—who has had his feet firmly planted in the horror genre—does with the iconic franchise. On the heels of yesterday’s image gallery (see it here) are a couple of new stills showing that these dirty apes are mean as hell and ready for war! Dig it below.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
