Yesterday saw the release of the second trailer for Guillermo del Toro's gothic horror picture, CRIMSON PEAK. While the ghost story was slotted to hit theaters in October of last year, del Toro deemed the picture wouldn't be done in time, so it was moved to October of this year. Despite being 5 months away, we have a new international trailer, poster, and a slew of images to tide you over until the ghoulish season arrives.

Some images to linger on:

A lot of people have noted that the trailers don't make the movie appear very scary (CG ghosts aside) and I'm inclined to agree, but I think it looks like a lot of fun! Definitely creepy, and I'm also picking up a kind of Disney's Haunted Mansion vibe. There's something about a period piece that really adds to a ghost story . . . or maybe the other way around. Either way, you can count me in a theater seat to watch CRIMSON PEAK this Halloween.

CRIMSON PEAK will open in theaters on October 16, 2015.
