Last week we shared with you guys the new trailer and poster for writer/director Daniel Farrands's THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE starring Hilary Duff of all people as the titular Sharon Tate. The supernatural horror film revolves around the final days in the life of actress Sharon Tate before she was murdered by members of the "family" led by Charles Manson in 1969. It's rated R for "strong bloody violence, terror, and some language."
And today we have a few new stills that tease the infamous Manson Family Massacre. One features Duff going all Casey Becker in SCREAM, getting what seems to be an ominous phone call; the next features Duff and a friend cowering under some sort of table; and the final two seem to showcase the massacre itself, with Duff being held at knifepoint in one, and being killed (?) in the other.
You can check them out below. As if you really needed to know much more about the movie, here is the synopsis:
The story takes a look at the last days leading up to Sharon Tate's death from her point of view. The plot is inspired by an actual quote from Tate, from an interview published a year before her death, wherein she reveals having dreams about ghosts haunting her house and foreseeing her own death at the hands of a satanic cult.
Duff's co-stars include Jonathan Bennett (MEAN GIRLS), Lydia Hearst, Pawel Szajda, Fivel Stewart, Tyler Johnson, Bella Popa, Ryan Cargill, and Ben Mellish as Charles Manson. The U.S. distribution rights are in the hands of Saban Films and we will let you know as soon as they figure out a release date for the movie. Until then, what do you make of THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE? Do you find it tasteless? Let us know below!
