It was just yesterday that we told you guys about R.L. Stine's FEAR STREET movie(s) getting the go ahead with HONEYMOON's Leigh Janiak writing and directing not one, but three new movies based on that teen horror novel series.
In keeping with the Stine news, today we have word that there is an all-new comic book series coming our way this October, based on Stine's classic GOOSEBUMPS series.
The franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and IDW Publishing is helping the series celebrate by creating the new anthology title in which "a rotating team of writers and artists will give their spins on a number of Stine's concepts and characters."
R.L. Stine on GOOSEBUMPS comic:
My first reading thrill when I was a kid was the EC horror comics Tales From the Crypt and The Vault of Horror. They introduced me to the excitement of reading. Now all these years later, I have another thrill — seeing my stories and characters come to life in a comic book series of their own. Thanks to my new friends at IDW!
For those who might not remember, this is actually the second time GOOSEBUMPS has made the transition into comic books. Back in 2006, Scholastic released three Goosebumps Graphix books, but that was all we got from that particular line. Here's hoping this new series makes it past three issues.
While more info on the series will be revealed at the SDCC, this is what we know so far: The title is GOOSEBUMPS: MONSTERS AT MIDNIGHT and the first arc is written by Jeremy Lambert with art by Chris Fenoglio. The first issue hits stores and digital Oct. 25.
You can check out Chris Fenoglio's cover below and some character concept art. After checking through all of that, make sure to hit us up on social media and let us know what YOU think of this new GOOSEBUMPS comic book series, on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
