A new image from Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS has surfaced online over at Empire, and it features the GB team firing off their proton packs at a rock concert. We got a glimpse of the scene in the international trailer (which you'll also find below) for the upcoming film, and apparently the foursome are battling some sort of winged demon.
During a conversation with Empire, Feig said “I wanted my ladies to be badass. I wanted them to get in over their heads and fight ghosts. I like the idea of them having to enter a giant setting and take on ghosts.”
The director also went on to say, “I like action movies. I got to play with that in Spy, and it felt very natural here. It makes it fun and very unexpected for people when they hear it’s four lady Ghostbusters. It may be quite different than what they think.”
It kind of sounds like Feig still seems to think that the biggest issue people are having with the reboot is the fact that it stars an all-female team. Based on the comments I've read, there are definitely some who belong in the He-Man Woman Haters Club, however most just don't think the film looks that great. It's not sexist or misogynist to want a good GHOSTBUSTERS movie, and although I'm hopeful, I'm not sure if we'll be getting that with the reboot.
GHOSTBUSTERS will be in theaters on July 15, 2016.
