Alfonso Cuaron's GRAVITY may not be a horror flick in the 'ghosties, ghoulies, babes, blood' sense, but there's no denying that the film presents an absolutely terrifying scenario that sees two astronauts (George Clooney, Sandra Bullock) drifting through the expanse of space. I'd bet money that this film will have you on the edge of your seat, sweaty and with your heart about to beat out of your chest in a much more effective manner than most of the more traditional horror films we've seen this year.
While we all wait for its October 4th, 2013 release date, we have a new poster for the flick, this one featuring George Clooney, who plays veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky, a witty, solid space jockey on his last flight before he hangs up his space suit. He’s overseeing nervy Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock), up for her first time to conduct experiments and work on the Hubble telescope. She’s not dealing with it well, but Kowalsky is the calm voice of reason and encouragement.
Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
