New images from David Ayer’s Fury starring Brad Pitt

We have some new images from writer-director David Ayer’s World War II picture FURY that you can check out below. The flick is being described as the “ultimate tank movie” by Ayer, and stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal.

Here’s the official synopsis:

FURY is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Ayer had a few things to say about the flick and awesome cast:

Ayer on Pitt:

“He’s playing this badass, hard, tough, intense guy … It’s a different kind of role for him.”

Ayer on LaBeouf:

“He’s insanely good in this thing … He’s a joy to work with and I can’t wait to work with him again.”

Ayer on The Tank:

“I couldn’t tell you how much insurance this thing had on it – it was crazy … It actually ended up performing really well. It’s like the tank was happy to get out of the barn and run around. These tanks like to run hard. That’s what they’re built for.”

He had me at “tank movie”, but sure toss in an outstanding cast and story for good measure. Pitt’s name is even Wardaddy! How much more badass can you even get? I love me some war movies, my favorites being SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and THE THIN RED LINE. There’s nothing quite like seeing the camaraderie behind the battle.  Check out the  awesome behind-the-scenes pics of the cast on David Ayer’s Instagram and hope the band stays alive until the end of the movie (call me optimistic).

Fury opens November 14th 2014.
