New Eternals clip heads to Bollywood with Kumail Nanjiani

We’re just a few days away from the introduction of an entirely new group of Marvel heroes. Eternals will be hitting theaters this Friday and Marvel Studios have released a new clip that finds Kumail Nanjiani in Bollywood. Kingo is an Eternal who can project cosmic energy from his hands and becomes a popular Bollywood star in order to blend in on Earth. The clip finds him shooting a scene for his latest film which tells of the legend of Ikaris, and wouldn’t you know it, but Kingo’s old pals show up in order to inform him that the Deviants have returned.

Kumail Nanjiani shared the new Eternals clip on Twitter, saying “As someone who grew up watching Bollywood movies, I loved filming this sequence. (My dance partner here is the amazing @NikkitaChadha.)” While the first reactions to Eternals heralded it as one of Marvel’s most unique films, by the time the reviews came rolling in, they were decidedly less kind. In fact, with the film standing at 57% on Rotten Tomatoes, it has become the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to receive a Rotten score. Not that that should keep you from seeing it and making up your own mind.

The official synopsis for Eternals:

Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.
