The last time we heard from BLOOD TIES, the crime drama from director Guillaume Canet, was at TIFF 2013 (see our review here), but now the film has resurfaced with a new domestic trailer in preparation for its stateside release. Starring Clive Owen and Billy Crudup as brothers on either side of the law, one a cop (Crudup) and one a crook (Owen), the two square off with organized crime in the 1970's, making for a retro-style crime flick that doesn't come around too often. Joining the cast is Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Marion Cotillard, Lili Taylor, and James Caan, which makes for a hell of a roll call.

This looks really cool. As I said, it's rare that we get '70's set crime dramas anymore unless Scorsese is at the helm, so it's a welcome addition to the genre. Having this batch of actors together hamming it up with thick New York accents and '70's attire seems like a lot of fun as well. Crudup and Owen are both gifted actors who rarely get their due, so it's cool to see them leading this venture together. All said, this looks like a fun nostalgic thriller.
BLOOD TIES hits limited theaters on March 21, 2014.
