You’ll see no complaining out of me right now because this sounds f*cking awesome. The unlikeliest of spinoffs is heading our way thanks to Warner Bros., who has launched a new digital content division—Blue Ribbon Content—that has a new series in works based on the 1986 classic CRITTERS. Blue Ribbon will revisit the world of the legendary New Line Cinema cult classic movie franchise, as a new batch of alien pests descends upon the planet in this new digital series written by Michael Jelenic & Aaron Horvath, reports THR.
"We are tremendously excited about Blue Ribbon Content’s initial slate of development projects, and we are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a talented group of writers and producers on projects that they feel exceptionally passionate about," Sam Register, head of Blue Ribbon, said. "We look forward to delivering compelling and memorable programming for our fans and distribution partners."
In the original Stephen Herek-directed film:
A massive ball of furry creatures from another world eat their way through a small mid-western town followed by intergalactic bounty hunters opposed only by militant townspeople.
CRITTERS starred Dee Wallace, Scott Grimes, Billy Zane and M. Emmet Walsh.
