I'm looking forward to the new Anne Hathaway-starring scifi-comedy COLOSSAL. I wasn't too sure about the flick at first, but then Dan THE GUEST Stevens joined the cast and my interest was piqued.
After that there was some talk about a lawsuit, which I don't believe ever amounted to much, and then we were hit with the trailer. The trailer is when I was hooked in. At least for a VOD watch.
The film looks pretty bonkers and it seems to center on a monster stomp-killing Japan, and as it turns out the monster seems to be controlled by Anna Hathaway's character. And this is a comedy. WTF in the best way possible.
The film still could be a bust, but the film's director, Nacho Vigalondo, has done some tight work in the past with TIMECRIMES and OPEN WINDOWS, so I'm optimist COLOSSAL will end up working by the time the credits roll. Fingers crossed.
