Wes Anderson's latest flick, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, is right around the corner, which is pretty sweet, especially for fans of the filmmaker. His last film, 2012's MOONRISE KINGDOM, was his 2nd most successful film (just behind THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS) and was regarded with a lot of critical acclaim, many calling it his finest work. Now, word is trickling in on BUDAPEST and it's resoundingly positive thus far, which is kind of expected at this point. Today, we have a look at a new clip from the film, which highlights cake, a "throat slasher," Harvey Keitel's bouncing pecs, and a detailed escape plan, which aren't hard to imagine in the venue of a Wes Anderson movie.
Take a look:
Here's the synopsis:
GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.
As usual with Anderson, there will be lovers and haters and very few people in between when this little caper hits theaters. As a fan, I will see anything he does and am thankful to see his visual style in all its integrity, the same as you would a Woody Allen or Guillermo Del Toro flick. Plus, Anderson has a penchant for assembling a really kick ass cast, which always makes for a good show.
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL starring Ralph Fiennes, Saoirse Ronan, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Léa Seydoux, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Bob Balaban, Tom Wilkinson, and Jason Schwartzman checks in on March 7, 2014.
