New Civil War concept art shows Ant-Man fighting for a different side

In the immortal words of Master Yoda, “size matters not.”  Well, with all due respect, that guy was f@cking wrong. In fact, I can think of one moment where size mattered a whole lot.

During the airport fight sequence in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, the fight really turned in Team Cap’s favor when the bite-sized Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) turned it up to 11 and became Giant-Man. Once he became humongous, he was able to smash and swat at all the normal-sized folks below. However, this massive advantage almost swore his allegiance to someone else, if this concept art by Andy Park (via Comic Book Resources) is to be believed.

Take a gander!

As you can see, Ant-Man, at one point, was fighting for Team Iron Man and was instead taking swats at Captain America (Chris Evans). Chances are, once Marvel saw the team Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) assembled they realized having a force like Giant-Man—on top of Vision (Paul Bettany), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman)—seemed like a bit of overkill. Hence, they switched him over to Team Cap to even the odds. No doubt Cap would’ve been screwed without the little/big guy, so switching him was a smart move—especially considering Team Cap was also in much need of a comedy boost.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set for a digital release on September 2, while a Blu-ray and DVD release will follow on September 13.
