When I first saw the new character posters for 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE, I thought to myself, "Why the hell haven't we seen more from the film?" completely forgetting that its release was pushed back to next year. The first trailer was better than expected, but I still don't think the sequel is going to blow me away.
The character posters come courtesy of Total Film, and they'll be releasing a new one each day to coincide with Comic-Con this week. I'm assuming Protosamurai isn't a character's name and is just a blanket name given to a specific group of warriors, like the Immortals in 300, but you can check out his poster and Lena Headey as Queen Gorgo below.
Synopsis:
After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.
300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE will attack theaters on March 7th, 2014.
