What’s New to Watch on Blu-ray: The Little Things, The Virtuoso, and more

Judas and the Black Messiah, The Little Things, Blu-ray

While Blu-ray releases have been touch-and-go since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, The month of May looks to finally be bringing some heavy-hitters to a home theater near you.

The first film I'd like to highlight this week is Shaka King's Judas and the Black Messiah. Nominated for 6 Academy Awards – winning two for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Daniel Kaluuya) as well as Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures – the film provides a riveting glimpse into the Black Panther movement and its fight for civil rights.

Another film being released on Blu-ray this week is John Lee Hancock's The Little Things. Starring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto, the film tells the story of what happens when Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe Deacon is sent to Los Angeles for what should have been a quick evidence-gathering assignment. Instead, he becomes embroiled in the search for a serial killer who is terrorizing the city.

If you're in the mood for some danger and deception revolving around Anthony Hopkins, you might want to pick up The Virtuoso. Directed by Nick Stagliano, The Virtuoso takes place in a sleepy town where a professional assassin accepts a new assignment from his enigmatic boss. Joining Hopkins for this new action crime-thriller is Anson Mounts, and Abbie Cornish.

Other films set to hit shelves this Tuesday include Tim Burton's Big Fish in sparkling 4K, Arrow's Special Edition of A Ghost WaitsMacGruberCB4Cool as Ice, and much more.
