New Birds of Prey promo is here to wish you a Harley New Year

Harley Quinn and her flock of badass Birds have arrived with a new teaser for BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) that aims to wish you all a fantabulous new year! As seen in the tweet posted below, the international promo features the luxurious ladies of DC's upcoming female-focused superheroine film, each decked out in their New Year's finest and armed with sparklers to help get the party started. As a glittery countdown ticks along in anticipation of a brand new year, DC's femme fatales – Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Helena Bertinelli/Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Rosie Perez (Renee Montoya), and Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) – can be seen sporting festive sunglasses as well as smiles that are as bright as a Times Square New Year's ball, on the evening of January 31st.

When Birds of Prey arrives in theaters on February 7, 2020, fans of Daddy's Little Monster had best prepare themselves to shake hands with a very different Qweenpin of Crime. In addition to the new film being R-rated, it's been reported that Harley will be embracing her new lease on life after kicking her abusive relationship with Joker to the curb. Emboldened by her beloved Birds, Ms. Quinn and her sisters in slaughter will find themselves going up against villains the likes of Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina). Directing this psychotic smashing of the patriarchy is Cathy Yan (DEAD PIGS, ACCORDING TO MY MOTHER) from a script penned by Christina Hodson (BUMBLEBEE, THE FLASH).

Without a doubt, BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) is one of my most anticipated films of 2020. Robbie's Harley Quinn was by far my favorite character hailing from David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD, and I'm anxious to see how Yan and Hodson present her, now that she's free of Joker's influence and looking to have some fun. So far, the trailers have this movie looking like a colorful, energetic, and free-spirited romp, and isn't that just perfect for a property like Birds of Prey? Let's do this!
